Built for the heat of the kitchen, this smart display system keeps orders organized, chefs focused, and food flowing. With real-time order tracking, timers, dish images, and drag-and-drop sorting, it replaces chaos with clarity. Designed to be fast, intuitive, and fully integrated with POS systems — it’s the upgrade every kitchen needs.
The project aimed to build an intuitive digital kitchen display system (KDS) that integrates with the restaurant’s POS and helps chefs and staff manage orders, track preparation times, reduce delays, and increase kitchen productivity. The user interface was designed to provide clarity, priority indicators, and a streamlined workflow that minimizes manual input
Existing systems had cluttered interfaces with steep learning curves.Staff had no clear way to track order delays or preparation time.Staff often resorted to writing down orders or relying on memory during busy hours. In high-volume kitchens with diverse menus, the absence of dish images caused miscommunication and preparation errors.Restaurant managers lacked insight into kitchen bottlenecks and performance metrics.
Each order appears as a tile with color-coded timers to indicate urgency.Kitchen staff can group dishes by table or category and rearrange the order queue visually.Orders display images and ingredients, minimizing errors in preparation.Depending on the restaurant size, the system supports a modular layout to be used on tablets, wall displays, or split across stations (e.g., grill, fryer, pastry).Restaurant managers can track average preparation times, peak hour workloads, number of completed vs. delayed orders, and staff performance metrics. The KDS syncs seamlessly with existing Point of Sale systems to receive orders in real time.
